Local planning guide

Understanding London time

London alternates between GMT and British Summer Time. Use the live clock for the current local time, then check the meeting date before sharing a time with someone abroad.

Guidance reviewed September 14, 2026. Live times follow your device clock and time-zone data.

GMT and British Summer Time

London uses Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+0) in winter and British Summer Time (UTC+1) in summer. Under the current UK schedule, clocks advance on the last Sunday in March and return on the last Sunday in October.

In 2026, the spring change was on 29 March and the autumn change is on 25 October. The clock uses Europe/London, allowing the offset to follow the time-zone rules available on your device.

Avoid ambiguous times on changeover nights

When clocks go forward, part of the local night is skipped. When they go back, part of the night happens twice. An invitation that gives only an hour without the date and time zone can therefore be unclear.

For overnight work on a changeover date, confirm the exact instant with everyone involved, including the UTC offset. The planner’s date field uses your device time zone and your browser’s interpretation of that local time; it does not offer a choice between two repeated occurrences. Prefer an unambiguous time when using this tool.

Choosing a London–Dubai meeting time

A 09:00 London meeting reaches Dubai at 13:00 during GMT or 12:00 during BST. Keep the named London time zone in a recurring invitation so you can see which participant’s local hour changes.

Start by exploring 09:00–13:00 in London if both teams want a call within a 09:00–18:00 day. This suggested window works under either UK offset, but a highlighted time is only a guide: check working days, breaks and the full meeting length.

London is preselected in the converter and as City 1 in the planner. Choose your other cities, set the date in the device time zone displayed under the input, and compare the same column across rows. For an immediate call, the converter shows the current difference.
