Understanding Pakistan time

Pakistan Standard Time gives Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad the same clock. The city selector lets you name the correct destination when comparing an appointment with someone abroad.

Guidance reviewed September 14, 2026. Live times follow your device clock and time-zone data.

Pakistan Standard Time and city coverage

Pakistan currently uses UTC+5 without a seasonal daylight-saving change. Its time-zone identifier is Asia/Karachi; the city name represents the country’s clock rules and also applies to Lahore and Islamabad.

Choose the city where the person or event is located. A trip between these cities does not need a time-zone adjustment, but you still need to allow for travel and check the date attached to each booking.

Use a clear time-zone label

Write “Pakistan time (UTC+5)” or use Asia/Karachi when creating a calendar event. A short abbreviation alone can be misunderstood by an international recipient.

Pakistan’s one-hour lead over the UAE makes the arithmetic straightforward: subtract one hour from Pakistan time to get UAE time. Near midnight, also move the date back. A 00:30 appointment in Pakistan is at 23:30 on the previous day in the UAE.

Make a family or team call easy to follow

Begin with the Pakistan city selector. It updates the live location, converter’s From city and the first planner location together. Set City 2 to the person abroad and City 3 to another participant if useful.

The meeting input follows your device’s time zone, which may be different from Pakistan. After entering a proposed date and time, read the Pakistan row to confirm the local hour you intended. For a repeating call with a country that changes clocks, check an occurrence after its next clock change too.
