Understanding Morocco time
Morocco uses GMT (UTC+0) following its September 2026 clock change. Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakesh share one local clock, so travelling between these cities does not change the time.
Guidance reviewed October 11, 2026. Live times follow your device clock and time-zone data.
Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakesh share a clock
The listed Moroccan cities use Africa/Casablanca. IANA’s 2026c release records Morocco’s move to permanent UTC+0 from 20 September 2026, replacing the earlier UTC+1 arrangement and Ramadan adjustments.
The live tools use your device’s time-zone database. Older browsers or operating systems may still show the previous rule. Keep your software updated and confirm critical travel or meeting times with the provider.
The Moroccan clock changes in 2026
Earlier in 2026, the ministry announced a return to GMT on 15 February and a return to UTC+1 on 22 March. These are historical changes, not the current schedule or dates to reuse next year.

Plan an itinerary and a call home
Keep each booking’s local date and city alongside its time. Travel between Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakesh does not itself require a clock adjustment; allow for travel time separately.
Under the current UTC+0 rule, the UAE is four hours ahead of Morocco: a 10:00 Morocco call reaches the UAE at 14:00. For historical appointments during Morocco’s UTC+1 periods, that same local call reached the UAE at 13:00.
Select a Moroccan city above and the UAE city in the planner. Enter the proposed date using the device time zone displayed below the field, then compare the rows. Check the device’s time-zone data if a current Moroccan offset differs from UTC+0.

| Morocco clock rule | Morocco time | UAE time |
|---|---|---|
| Current: GMT · UTC+0 | 10:00 | 14:00 · same day |
| Historical UTC+1 periods | 10:00 | 13:00 · same day |
The current row applies from 20 September 2026 under IANA 2026c. The historical row applies only to dates when UTC+1 was in effect.
